Merseyside Refugee Support Network

Merseyside Refugee Support Network is a registered charity whose overall aim is the relief of refugees and asylum seekers in Merseyside. In meeting our aims we provide a range of support, information sharing and integration services including Orientation English language classes; employment and job-search support; help with benefits and housing issues and sign posting to other specialist support.  In recent years, we have seen a huge increase in the need for social and integration support from our often vulnerable and disadvantaged clients and also an increasing number of EU migrants are seeking our help for similar issues in a city which faces high unemployment and disadvantage.  In this new project, we will act as the project coordinator and take part in all activities according to the workplan.

Centro Novas Oportunidades da Escola Secundária de Rocha Peixoto

Centro Novas Oportunidades da Escola Secundária de Rocha Peixoto started in Póvoa de Varzim, in November 2008. Our mission is to recognize practical knowledges, acquired in several life contexts, in order to validate and certify skills during certain stages of an adult's life, providing them higher academic levels. We have an important role in society, as we work with the adult population in general, namely immigrant and unemployed people. Thus we do vocational reorientation. On the other hand, we try to change their attitudes towards school and increase reading skills. With this, we try to link younger generations  to older ones in order to promote better relationships in society.
